Martas Art Gallery presents "LIVE FOR ELLA BAY RAINFOREST".
Marine Wildlife Australia, Martas Art Gallery and The Bandawalla Moons have teamed up help save Ella Bay rainforest.
There will be lots of yummy food, so rock up at 8pm with an empty tummy and your dancing shoes!
Ella Bay is surrounded by 65 hectares of World Heritage rainforest, home to snubfin dolphins, the cassowary, several endangered frog species and has recently been found as a nesting site for flatback and green turtles.
Satori Resorts has lodged an application to build 4 resorts, a golf course and over 500 hundred houses in this fragile environment.
If approved and built, the resort will have a devastating impact on the environment and the endangered/vulnerable animals that inhabit Ella Bay.
Three of North Queenslands bands have come together to raise funding for this cause. CANDELA from Magnetic Island, HUFKAS from Townsville and THE BANDAWALLA MOONS from townsville will be performing live and funky roots reggae influenced music from 8.00pm to 12.00am, as well as some speakers to raise awareness about the cause.
All proceeds raised by this event go to Marine Wildlife Australia for the conservation of the magical rainforest and animals of Ella Bay.
Come and show your support for our environment! TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE ELLA BAY!!!!
